Block Tatted Shamrock
This pattern from my new book, “Holidays on the Block" is presented in conjunction with the Online Tatting Class.
There are many methods for moving up to the next row in block tatting. I am using the abbreviation "EOR" (end of row) to indicate where to use your favorite method. Some popular methods are:
Lock Stitch Method: Lock Stitch, turn, Switch Shuttles (LS turn SS)
Modified SLT Method: Shoe lace tie, turn, half stitch (SLT turn hs)
Direct Chain Method: Work 1 ds between rows, alternate rows of regular and unflipped stitches.
Abbreviations:
|
|
| Ch | Chain |
| clr | Close Ring |
| CTM | Continuous thread method (do not cut thread between shuttles or between shuttle and ball) |
| +LJ | Lock join (aka shuttle join) |
| LS | Lock stitch: 1st half of DS is NOT flipped, 2nd half is flipped as usual |
| R | Ring |
| RW | Reverse work |
| SS | Switch shuttles |
| turn | Like a page, side-to-side, rather than up-and-down as for reverse work |
| vsp | Very small picot |
| + | Join |
| ( ) | Encloses comments |
Pattern
