Shown here will be some of the Fake McCoy Items found on the Internet. Some are copies of McCoy items and some are total FAKES. Please check my site at www.quita.net for more listings of Fake McCoys. Please feel free to email me at: mcquita@aol.com with McCoy questions. This does not address items mis-labeled as McCoy...only ones that are faked or copied. I'd like to stress to watch out for sellers who are selling with private auctions or hidden feedback. A number of the fake sellers use these features. Fakes are often shown with 'crazing'. Makers of the fakes use a process to make this look-to fool you into thinking it's old. I'd like to remind you that some of these items are 'copies' of legitimate McCoy Pottery items. If you study the references, you'll find the colors the originals were made in. Mostly the fakes are in different colors but not always. |
