A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR KEN It is again time for Annual Conference in Kentucky. Conference was held June 3-6 at the Morthing Kentucky Convention Center in Covington where over 1500 clergy and lay delegates met to celebrate how God is at work in nearly 900 United Methodist churches across our state. Kathy Sherman and I represented St John as delegates. Among the items of business at conference, we witnessed the ordination of new clergy, voted on constitutional amendments sent to us by General Conference, celebrated the lives of ministers and their spouses who had died during the past year, and received offerings from local congregations around the state which will be used to help provide a modest pension for UM pastors in developing countries which are unable to provide pension for their pastors. Conference concluded on Saturday with the reading of the new pastoral appointments for the next year by Bishop Lindsey Davis – a custom that was established by John Wesley in the 1740’s. Bishop Davis has renewed my appointment to St John for another year.
